Given the “HOT” summer we had, it is hard to believe that winter is right around the corner.  We had a great season last year and look forward to the upcoming season.

Deana Madigan is our new Activities Chairperson and welcomes your support.  She needs and wants your help, ideas, etc.  Please contact her at 844-3842 if you are willing to help and/or have activity ideas.

Officers for 2005/2006 are President Pat Lynch, Vice President TBD, Secretary John Carson, Treasurer Dave Engasser and Membership Chairperson Nancy Gould.  Danielle Cornelius was elected Interim Vice President at the September meeting.  We will hold a formal election at the November meeting for the Vice President for 2005/2006.  If you are interested in running for VP, please contact Pat.

By this time, I’m sure that most of you are aware of the recent law that was passed by the New York State legislators which resulted in a two-tier system for registering snowmobiles.  This law will be effective for the 2006/2007 season.  Those individuals who belong to a snowmobile club will pay an annual fee of $45 (same as current year).  Those individuals who do not belong to a snowmobile club will pay an annual fee of $100.  This law was passed to increase club membership which will result in better communication between snowmobilers and safer riding for everyone.  This law also includes a speed limit of 55 mph for sleds.

Effective this year, your Club membership will run from August 1 to July 31.  This will allow our Club to process your membership and return paperwork to you showing that you are a Club member, which will reduce your registration fee for your sled(s) beginning with the 2006/2007 season.

In addition, our Club would appreciate your continued support by purchasing one or more of the raffle tickets for a new Ski Doo Snowmobile or $4,000 cash.  The ticket price is $10 each.  Please contact Ray Ink at 539-7819 or hmi2@cornell.edu to purchase a ticket. 

We wish to invite all Club members to become active participants in the Club.  We purchased a second large groomer earlier this year and welcome your help in grooming, trail maintenance, activities, etc.  A little work by all of us makes it easier for everyone.  Please volunteer to enable our Club to remain strong.  Thanks!
